I have sad news to report that The Paradise won’t be returning for a 3rd series. There is a Save The Paradise Facebook page that has been created in order to try and get the series back for a 3rd go, so if you’d like to put in your two bobs worth in and give the BBC a bit of whatfor, head on over to give your support.
In the meantime, here is a YouTube interview with Elaine about her character Katherine’s new life in The Paradise. Enjoy
Elaine is rumoured to be staring in a new drama titled Blue Guitar. The rumour appears on IMDb, but is still yet to be confirmed.
A perspective on Palestinian people dealing with Israeli occupation and how this affect human relations taking it out of the place into a complete different country, Ireland, where people and powers are equal, leaving it only to their humanity.

We will keep you updated as to whether or not this gets confirmed.
In other news, I’m overhauling the whole Elaine Cassidy site and redesigning it to be nice and fresh and easier for me to update on the fly. I’m also integrating a new forum system within the website so you only have to sign up to the website in order to gain access to the forum. It will mean you will have to re-register, but if you’re a true EC fan, I know you won’t mind It will also weed out all the spam sign ups that have been happening over the last forever, so it will be all fresh, sparkly and new. Keep an eye out for a new site coming very soon …
Sorry for the lack of updates recently, but work commitments and a bit of a lack of updates have been to blame of late, but Elaine’s back this Sunday night at 8:00pm on BBC One and 9:00pm Sunday night on Channel 2 in the US for the first episode of the second successful series of The Paradise.
The Paradise – Series Two – Episode One … 1/8 A year later, Denise and the Paradise are struggling without its charismatic owner Moray.
Meanwhile Elaine has been keeping herself busy interviewing up the town for us good folk to talk about the latest series of The Paradise and to reveal to us all what she hides in her closet …
Although this is yet to be confirmed, according to an @babycentreuk tweet, Elaine and Stephen recently welcomed baby boy Lynott Lord Cassidy around 23rd January 2013.
BabyCentre UK @babycentreuk
Congratulations Elaine Cassidy (The Paradise) and Stephen Lord (Shameless) on the birth of their baby Lynott Lord Cassidy!
The new bub we suspect, is to have been named after the late, great Irish singer, Phil Lynott, lead singer of the group Thin Lizzy. Back in 2001, Elaine was scheduled to play young Philomena (Phil Lynott’s mother) alongside Holly Hunter, who was to play the older Philomena in the now cancelled movie My Boy.
>> New images of Elaine have been posted on IMDb, which you can preview below. The Gallery is currently undergoing an overhauling, so no images will be posted in the Gallery for now. You will also all have to re-sign up to the Gallery once it’s back up and running again. Apologies for the inconvenience.
>>Elaine was recently interviewed by BBC Showcase …
Not the best screenshot for the video, but Elaine is endearing as always. Enjoy.
Female First recently did an interview with Elaine, revealing that her and husband Stephen Lord are expecting baby No. 2 soon. Elaine also revealed in the interview that although she loves being a mum (and no doubt and excellent one), she has no intention of giving up acting for motherhood. Great news for her fans and fantastic news for the Film, Television and Theatre industry; an industry that just wouldn’t be the same without her.
I love my job and I love my family, and I love my life. And I’m not defined by one thing – I’m not just a wife, I’m not just a daughter, I’m not just a sister, I’m not just Irish, I’m not just an actress, I’m not just a mother, you know, I’m all those things. And it’s all those things contributed together that make up who I am. So, no, I can’t see it happening!
The Elaine Cassidy Site and all Elaine and Stephen’s fans would like to extend their big congratulations on their upcoming personal production and wish them all the best for their forthcoming bundle of joy.
You can catch Elaine in the final episode of The Paradise on BBC1 at 9pm on Tuesday 13 November.

An Irish/Jewish film with an international feel, the beauty of this story lies in its simplicity, humour, and the universal desire to fit in.
